About Pastor Jamie

Rev. Jamie Michaels was born in Chicago, grew up in North Carolina, learned and trained in Washington, DC and California, and served campus ministries and churches in California and Massachusetts before arriving in Connecticut in 2023. Pastor Jamie earned her BA from Brevard College in North Carolina and her MDiv from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley. She believes that the Methodism and the Wesleyan tradition offer the world a sorely needed vision: that the work of personal faith transformation and the work of social transformation must inform one another. She believes the work of justice is at the center of the mandate of the church. Pastor Jamie lives with her spouse, Will, and their daughters Janaya (21 years old) and Harriet ( old), as well as their dog, cat, and 4 chickens. She loves music and theater, science fiction, cooking, and the outdoors, and she has been a Chicago Cubs fan since birth.
